This guide will walk you through creating a reorder link that automatically prefills items from a customer’s previous order, making it easy for customers to repurchase their favorite items. This works with storefront, checkout, and cart destinations.

Getting Started

Begin by creating a normal link with the following basic information:
  • Link name
  • Destination URL
  • Custom slot (if applicable)
Before configuring the reorder functionality, you can add any desired cart enhancements like products, free gifts, discount codes, or free shipping offers.

Enabling Dynamic Reorder Functionality

Activate Dynamic Mode

Click the Dynamic toggle to enable dynamic features. You’ll see two options appear.

Select Customer Mode

Choose the Customer option from the available selections.

Configure Reorder Settings

Once in customer mode, you’ll notice the cart card now displays dynamic settings. Look for the checkbox labeled “Reorder items” and select it.When enabled, this feature will automatically prefill all items from the customer’s latest order, regardless of your destination type (storefront, checkout, or cart).

Understanding Dynamic URL Parameters

After enabling reorder functionality, the link card will display important dynamic information.
You need to add a customer ID to the URL parameters to enable dynamic features.
The URL structure will be:
[your-base-url]?c=CUSTOMER_ID
Replace CUSTOMER_ID with the actual customer ID from Shopify to make the link fully dynamic. To test how your reorder link will function:
  1. Click “Select a customer”
  2. Search for and choose the desired customer
  3. Click “Select”
  4. The dynamic information section will display the complete link with the customer ID
After saving your configuration:
  1. Copy the generated link
  2. Visit the URL in your browser
  3. You’ll be directed to your chosen destination (storefront, checkout, or cart) with items automatically prefilled
  4. All items from that customer’s previous order will be added—no manual cart additions required!
