How to Drive Threads Traffic to Your Shopify Store with a Link-in-Bio Page

Threads is growing fast and your Instagram link-in-bio works on both. Here's how to turn Threads followers into Shopify customers without building a separate sales funnel.

Threads has quietly become one of the fastest-growing social platforms for brands. It’s text-first, conversation-driven, and — unlike X — it shares your Instagram audience. If you already have an Instagram following, you have a Threads audience waiting.

The problem is the same one every social platform has: there’s no native checkout. You can’t tag products in a Threads post. You can’t add a swipe-up link. The only clickable link on your profile is the one in your bio.

That makes your link-in-bio page the entire bridge between Threads engagement and Shopify sales. If that page is a list of random links, you’re wasting the traffic. If it’s a focused selling page with products and a direct path to checkout, Threads becomes a real revenue channel.

Why Threads Works for Shopify Merchants

Threads isn’t Instagram. It’s not about polished photos and curated feeds. It’s about conversation, personality, and quick takes. And that changes how people discover and connect with brands.

Organic Reach Is Still Real

Instagram’s organic reach has been declining for years. A post from a brand account might hit 5-10% of followers. Threads is different right now — the algorithm actively surfaces content from accounts you don’t follow, and engagement rates for brands are significantly higher than on Instagram or X.

This matters because it means new people are seeing your posts. Not just your existing followers — genuinely new potential customers who’ve never heard of your brand. Your link-in-bio page is the first impression for these people.

Text Posts Build Trust Faster

Instagram is aspirational. Threads is authentic. When you share a behind-the-scenes take on sourcing materials, explain why you chose a specific packaging supplier, or talk honestly about a product that didn’t work out — that’s the content that resonates on Threads.

This kind of transparency builds buying trust faster than any product photo. A customer who reads ten of your Threads posts knows your brand’s values, personality, and how you operate. When they finally tap your bio link, they’re warm. They’re not browsing — they’re ready to consider buying.

It’s Connected to Instagram

Threads uses your Instagram account. Same username, same profile photo, and — most importantly — same bio link. When you update your link-in-bio page, it updates everywhere: your Instagram profile, your Threads profile, and any other surface that pulls from your Instagram bio.

This means you’re not building a separate funnel. One link-in-bio page serves both platforms. The work you put into your bio page pays dividends on Instagram and Threads simultaneously.

Threads visitors are different from Instagram visitors. They’ve been reading your words, not looking at your photos. Your bio page needs to continue that text-first, personality-forward experience.

Lead with Context, Not Just Products

On Instagram, a visitor taps your bio link after seeing a beautiful product photo. They know what the product looks like. They want to buy it.

On Threads, a visitor taps your bio link after reading a conversation about sustainable packaging or your take on industry pricing. They’re interested in your brand, but they might not have a specific product in mind yet.

Start your bio page with a short text block that bridges the gap. Something like “We make [product] for [who]. Here’s what’s new.” Then show your current priority — a new launch, a seasonal promotion, or your bestsellers.

Feature Products That Match Your Thread Topics

If you’re posting on Threads about your new summer collection, your bio page should feature that collection at the top. If you shared a thread about the craft behind your candles, lead with candles on your bio page.

The disconnect that kills conversions: someone reads your engaging Threads post about hand-poured candles, taps your bio, and lands on a page leading with jewelry and skincare. They can’t find the thing that brought them there.

Update your bio page to match your current Threads content. It doesn’t need to change daily, but it should reflect what you’re actively posting about. When your products are one tap from your talking points, the path from interest to purchase is seamless.

Don’t send Threads traffic to your Shopify store with a “Shop Now” button. That adds an entire browsing layer between interest and purchase.

Use product blocks that show the item, price, and a buy button directly on your bio page. When a visitor taps buy, they go straight to Shopify checkout. No store navigation, no add-to-cart, no searching for the right product. They see it, they want it, they buy it.

Product blocks also solve the “what should I buy?” problem for Threads visitors who are brand-curious but haven’t picked a product yet. A visual product grid on your bio page does the merchandising work that product page browsing would otherwise have to do.

Add an Email Capture Block

Threads builds awareness, but not every follower is ready to buy today. An email capture block on your bio page catches the visitors who are interested but not yet at the purchase point.

Offer something in exchange — early access to new products, a small discount on first order, or exclusive content. The email creates a Shopify customer record, which means the subscriber immediately enters your Klaviyo flows, Shopify Email campaigns, or whatever marketing automation you’re running.

This turns a one-time Threads visitor into a lead you can nurture toward a purchase over time.

Posting on Threads is only half the equation. The other half is getting people to tap your bio link. Unlike Instagram, you can’t add product tags or Stories with link stickers. You need to create reasons for people to visit your profile and tap.

The “If You Want It” Thread

Post about a product or promotion naturally — the story behind it, why you made it, who it’s for. End with: “Link in bio if you want it.” Simple, direct, no hard sell. This works because Threads audiences respond to authenticity, not marketing language.

The Behind-the-Scenes Thread

Share the process — how an order gets packed, how a product gets made, what your workspace looks like. These posts consistently get high engagement on Threads, and a percentage of that engagement converts to profile visits and bio link taps.

You don’t need to mention your bio link in every post. Just existing as an interesting brand in someone’s feed drives profile visits over time. When they eventually tap, your bio page needs to be ready to convert.

The Question Thread

Ask your audience what they want to see next, what their biggest problem is with [your niche], or what they wish brands did differently. These get massive engagement on Threads because the platform rewards conversation.

High engagement means more profile visits. And profile visits plus a well-built bio page equals sales.

Reply to Everything

Threads rewards active conversation. Reply to comments on your posts. Reply to other brands’ posts. Join trending conversations in your niche. Every reply puts your profile in front of new people. Your username is a link to your profile, which is a link to your bio page, which is a link to your products.

This is free traffic. The only cost is your time and the quality of your contributions.

Measuring Threads-to-Sales Performance

Your link-in-bio page sits between two analytics systems: Shopify’s store analytics and your social platform metrics. Here’s how to connect them.

Track Bio Page Views

Your LinkShop dashboard shows page views, clicks, and add-to-carts. Watch for spikes that correlate with Threads posts. When a particular post drives a visible traffic bump, note what kind of content it was and do more of it.

Separate Threads from Instagram

Both platforms use the same bio link. To tell them apart, check your post timing against bio page traffic. Threads has a different engagement curve than Instagram — posts get interaction over hours and days, not just the first 30 minutes.

If you want cleaner data, mention a specific product or offer in Threads posts and track whether that product’s block gets more clicks during Threads-heavy posting periods.

Revenue Attribution

The sales that come through your bio page show up in Shopify like any other order. If you’re running UTM tracking on your checkout links (within your bio page’s product blocks), you can trace revenue back to the bio page specifically.

Look at the full picture: Threads followers gained, bio page visits, product block clicks, and completed orders. Even a modest conversion rate on a growing channel adds meaningful revenue over time.

Common Mistakes

Treating Threads like Instagram. Instagram is visual. Threads is conversational. If you’re reposting your Instagram captions word-for-word on Threads, you’re missing the platform’s strength. Write for Threads specifically — more personality, more opinions, more direct engagement.

Ignoring the bio page because “it’s just a link.” Your bio link is the only clickable path from Threads to your store. If it points to a generic Linktree page with 12 links and no products, you’re leaking every potential sale. Treat your bio page like a landing page, because that’s what it is.

Posting only product promotions. Threads audiences scroll past pure marketing. The brands that grow on Threads are the ones that share genuinely interesting perspectives. The selling happens on the bio page. Threads is for building the relationship that makes someone want to visit your bio page in the first place.

Not updating the bio page. Your Threads content evolves weekly. Your bio page should keep pace. If you’re talking about a new product launch on Threads but your bio page still features last month’s bestsellers, you’re sending people to a page that doesn’t match the conversation that brought them there.

Really great Shopify integration. Easier than Hoobee or LinkInBio because it's right in the Shopify store.
