Group Block

How to organize blocks into a collapsible group on your LinkShop page, so a long page stays tidy and visitors open only what they want.

The Group block wraps other blocks inside a collapsible card. Use it to keep a long page short — visitors tap the group’s heading to open it and see the blocks inside.

What It Does

A Group block shows as a card with a heading, an optional description and an optional icon or image, plus an arrow on the right. Tapping the card opens or closes it. When it’s open, the blocks you’ve placed inside are listed within the card, using your page’s normal spacing. When it’s closed, only the heading row shows.

Any block can go inside a group: links, products, product grids and sliders, media, text, reviews, bundles, email collection. A group can’t be placed inside another group. Blocks inside a group follow the same global branding and layout as the rest of your page, and you can still style each one individually.

Settings

  • Heading — The text on the group’s card
  • Heading size — Small, Base or Large
  • Alignment — Left, Center or Right, for the heading and description
  • Description — Optional text shown under the heading
  • Show icon — Toggle on to show an icon on the left of the heading. Choose from: Shopify, Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Email, Phone, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or Messenger
  • Show image — Toggle on to show a custom image instead of an icon. You can use an icon or an image, but not both
  • Open by default — Toggle on to have the group start open when the page loads. Turn it off to start it closed so visitors expand it themselves

The group’s card also takes the usual Styling overrides — background, text and border colors, corner radius, border and shadow — like any other block.

How to Add a Group Block

  1. Open your LinkShop in the Shopify admin
  2. Click the + button to add a new block
  3. Select Group from the block list
  4. Enter a Heading and, optionally, a Description
  5. Choose whether to show an icon or an image
  6. Decide whether the group should be Open by default
  7. Click Save

How to Put Blocks Inside a Group

Blocks are moved into a group by dragging in the block list on the left of the editor:

  1. Find the block you want to move in the block list
  2. Drag it onto the group. An empty group shows a drop area; a group that already has blocks lets you drop between them
  3. Release to place it. It now appears indented under the group

To take a block back out, drag it above or below the group in the list. Use the arrow next to the group in the block list to collapse or expand its contents while you work — this only affects the editor, not what visitors see.

Tips

  • Group related links — “Press”, “Wholesale”, “Our stores” — so first-time visitors see a short list of headings instead of a wall of cards
  • Start groups closed for secondary content and open for the things you most want people to see
  • Duplicating a group copies everything inside it, which is a quick way to build a second section with the same structure
  • Hiding a block inside a group hides it from the group, not from the whole page — the group itself stays visible; if every block inside is hidden, the group shows as empty
