Tracking orders from storefront links

How orders from a storefront link are attributed, and where to see what each link earned.

Orders placed through a storefront link are attributed to Checkout Links, the same as orders from a checkout link or a popup link. You don’t lose tracking by sending customers to your store first.

The Checkout Links dashboard is the place to look. Every order created through a link is recorded against that link, so you can see orders, revenue and conversion per link, per campaign and per channel.

Each order also carries the code of the link that produced it, so a specific order can always be traced back to the link the customer clicked.

Getting useful numbers

Attribution is only as granular as the number of links you make. A single link shared everywhere tells you the campaign worked but not which channel did the work.

  • One link per channel. The same offer in an email, an Instagram post and an SMS should be three links.
  • One link per creator or partner. Otherwise you’re splitting one number between people.
  • Name links so you’ll recognise them later. “Spring sale — Klaviyo” beats “Link 4” when you’re reading a report in three months.

Tips

  • Set an expiry on campaign links so old ones stop accumulating orders after the campaign is over.
  • Keep evergreen links (a standing wholesale price, a permanent reorder link) separate from campaign links so their numbers don’t blur together.
