Enable customers to modify their cart without leaving checkout, reducing friction and preventing abandonment. The Cart Line Editor extension allows customers to make last-minute changes to their order right at checkout. They can adjust quantities or change product variants (like size or color) without navigating back to their cart, creating a smoother checkout experience.

What It Does

When to Use It

Use the Cart Line Editor to:
  • Reduce cart abandonment by eliminating extra navigation steps

Configuration

Activate the extension

In the Checkout Extensions tab, drag the Cart Line Editor card into the “Cart Line Items” target area.

Enable quantity editing

Toggle on “Allow Quantity Edit” to let customers change item quantities at checkout.

Enable variant changes

Toggle on “Allow Variant Change” to let customers switch between product variants (size, color, etc.) at checkout.

Save your settings

Click “Save” to apply your configuration. Preview the changes in the live checkout iframe.
Enable both quantity editing and variant changes for maximum flexibility. Customers appreciate being able to fix their order without starting over.

How Customers See It

When customers reach checkout through your link:
  1. Each cart item displays quantity controls (+ and - buttons) below the item
  2. If multiple variants exist, a dropdown selector appears to switch variants
  3. Changes update the order total immediately
  4. The experience matches your checkout’s native design
The Cart Line Editor only appears for items that support these features. Gift items or items with restrictions may not show all controls.
