Most storefront link problems come down to one of four things.
The cart is empty when the customer arrives
Usually the products on the link are unavailable. Check that every product is:
- In stock, or set to continue selling when out of stock.
- Available to Checkout Links as a sales channel. Open the product in your admin and check the sales channel list.
- Still published. A deleted or unpublished variant is silently dropped from the cart.
The discount isn’t applied
Check, in this order:
- Is the promotion switched on? A promotion toggled off in the link editor doesn’t apply, even though it’s still listed.
- Does the cart meet the conditions? A tiered promotion only applies once its threshold is reached.
- Is the promotion scoped to specific products? If Apply to is set to specific products or collections and the cart holds none of them, nothing is discounted. That’s deliberate.
Discounts apply but nothing explains them
The app embed isn’t on. Prices are correct, but badges and progress messages come from the embed — turn it on in your published theme. See Set up the storefront app embed.
A free gift is missing, or is being charged for
Threshold gifts need the app embed. Without it, a gift can’t be added when the customer reaches the threshold or removed when they drop below it. Turn on the embed and test the link again.
Test on your live store
Test with the real link on your published theme, in a private window. A preview theme or a duplicate won’t have the embed turned on, which produces exactly the symptoms above.
